Manipur, March 7 -- Doctors and medical students from the state government-operated Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) commenced a two-day strike on Wednesday.

The protest, held at the office gate of the JNIMS Superintendent inside the institute's campus, aims to denounce the harassment faced by the medical fraternity.

A banner prominently displayed at the protest site conveyed the message: "Sit-in protest against the harassment of the medical fraternity."

Placards bearing messages such as "Stop false allegations", "Stop harassment, save the workplace environment", "Stop extortion", and "Stop violence against the medical fraternity" adorned the protest area.
