Japanese Encephalitis vaccination campaign underway in Ukhrul, Kamjong; targets 37,925 children
Manipur, Nov. 16 -- Japanese Encephalitis vaccination campaign is being carried out in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts as a preventive measure to protect children from the disease and save lives.
The Japanese Encephalitis vaccination campaign for Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts, under the aegis of Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Manipur was launched at Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School on November 10, 2019. It will continue till November 30
Dr AS Kapangring, Chief Medical Officer, Ukhrul, told Imphal Free Press that one dose of JE vaccine can prevent children from being infected by the disease. The target age group is 1-15 years. He called upon all parents to get their children vaccinated.
