Manipur, Aug. 17 -- Like in other parts of the Country, the 73rd Independence Day of India was also observed at the playground at Jiribam Higher Secondary School (JHSS), organised by District Administration, Jiribam.
The event was attended by the DC of Jiribam, Mayanglambam Rajkumar as chief guest; and the programme commenced with him hoisting of the Indian Flag along a "Rashtriya Salute" and the singing of the National Anthem.
It also witnessed the attendance of officials from various departments of Jiribam along with students from various schools of the district. A March-Past contest was also conducted which was a participated by 33 contingents; and held in three categories which included 'ARMS', 'Senior' and 'Junior' categories.
