Manipur, April 23 -- Governor Najma Heptulla and chief minister joins the people of Manipur in the observance of Khongjom Day.
This day celebrates the indomitable spirit and courage of the Manipuris in the Anglo-Manipuri War, 1891, Manipuri soldiers showing true patriotism for their motherland.
Guv noted that Khongjom day reminds us of the historical fact that the British rule was brought upon us by the disunity and enmity among the Manipuri princes who craved for the throne.
