Manipur, July 14 -- A fresh Japanese Encephalitis case was detected on a 23-year-old youth from Tentha Khunjao, Manipur on Tuesday, sources said.

The youth was reported to be suffering from headache since the last one month, as stated by his father.

The youth is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital at Nagaram in Imphal. The patient, who is now in an unconscious state, was hospitalised on July 10 as his health condition became critical.

According to family members, the doctor told them that there is 70 per cent chance of recovery. They have also alerted the local club of Tentha Khunjao to make the locals aware that the virus of Japanese Encephalitis is present in their locality. The family of the patient is running a piggery and...
