Manipur, Nov. 8 -- The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Manipur centre held a 'Farmers' Participatory Varietal Selection' programme in Imphal Friday and stressed the need to include farmers in evaluating advanced varietal seeds.

The programme, which was held at ICAR complex, Lamphelpat, was organised with an objective to include farmers in evaluating advanced promising new varietal seeds developed by ICAR, Manipur centre, said organising secretary Konsam Sarika , scientist at ICAR.

Sarika said that with the increase in population and frequent damage of crop due to the impact of climate, there is need for producing high yielding variety seeds. And the Manipur centre has been playing important role in producing such seeds....
