Manipur, June 27 -- Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal East today reportedly granted bail to Ng. Shankar prior to his bail hearing fixed by the same court. However, due to his inability to pay the PR bond 50,000 and two sureties, he has been sent to judicial custody.
Ng. Shankar on July 5 is one of the suspects arrested by the police in connection with the case of KCP Nando's escape from JNIMS Ortho Ward. The court fixed the bail hearing of Ng. Shankar on July 5 who has been in judicial custody.
The reason why bail was granted has not been revealed yet, and the police who are handling the case reportedly claimed of having no knowledge on what conditions the accused was granted bail as they have not received the court order yet.
