Manipur, April 23 -- On the arrival of 'Khongjom Day' which falls on April 23, the proscribed umbrella organisation CORCOM has stated that the organisation pays its highest respects to the martyrs who laid down their lives at several battle fields during the Anglo-Manipuri war, 1891.

A release signed by media coordinator, LeibakNgaakpa Luwang stated that the organisation also pays homage to the roles which the martyred leaders had taken during the war. The exceptional bravery and courage shown by Manipuris during the Anglo-Manipuri war, 1891 will be freshly recalled on the arrival of Khongjom Day, it said.
