Manipur, Jan. 17 -- Hitting the gym without a proper instructor and gaining muscles in a short duration by using anabolic steroids have become a trend among the youngsters. However, they are unaware about its side effects, said physical instructor of RIMS, Ak Rabi.

Speaking to Imphal Free Press, Rabi asserted that misuse of anabolic steroids for muscle gaining can exert various health effects such as cardiac arrest, aggressive behaviour, erectile dysfunction, enlarged prostate and others.

Anabolic steroids are meant to be used only for medical purpose such as treatment for hormone problems in men, muscle loss from some diseases and others, however the body builders are misusing it to gain muscles in a short period, said Rabi.
