Manipur, Nov. 7 -- The Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed in connection with the mysterious death of a girl student, N Babysana Chanu on Wednesday lauded the High Court of Manipur for handing over the case to the CBI.

Speaking to the media during a press meet held here on Wednesday at Naharol Leisemba Club at Thangmeiband, JAC convenor L Gyaneshwari intimated that the agitations of the JAC has been suspended for some time as the demand to hand over the case to CBI has been fulfilled.

"We take the HC order as a defeat for the government. The government has been turning a blind eye despite repeated appeals and pleas of the JAC to handover the case to the CBI all this while," she said.
