IMPHAL, June 26 -- The shutdown imposed by All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) on all academic and administrative activities of Dhanamanjuri University was lifted today.

The student body imposed the shutdown on June 23 on the ground that the university lacks basic infrastructure and required staff, besides, non-conformation to UGC guidelines and standards, thereby victimising the postgraduate students with the alleged inefficiencies.

Speaking to media during a press meet held today evening at AMSU office inside DM College campus, secretary general, AMSU, Bipinchandra Ahanthem intimated that the shutdown was lifted following assurances by education minister, Th Radheshyam to fulfill the charter of demands placed by AMSU.
