KANGPOKPI, March 21 -- The All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) has come up with a decision of restricting the Gorkha youths and children in collecting money by blocking roads with ropes during Yaoshang festival.
The AMGSU has restricted the Gorkha youth and children from participating in such practice stating that AMGSU is totally against such practice as there is no such custom in the Gorkha community to collect tax/money on the National Highways and village roads during Holi festival.
It also said that a resolution to this effect was adopted at the 52nd Annual General Conference of AMGSU this year 2019 where it unanimously resolved not to collect tax in such manner during Holi festival.
