Manipur, Jan. 24 -- Vice chancellor, Central Agricultural University (CAU), M Premjit Singh stated that shifting of conventional method of farming to modern techniques would help in making rice cultivation profitable. To prevent rice scarcity in the state is the need of the hour, he said.

The VC was speaking in the annual interface meeting of CAU held at conference hall of the university, Imphal on Thursday. The theme of the meeting was 'Problem and Strategies for Development of Agricultural and Allied Sector in Manipur'.
