Manipur, Sept. 24 -- Standing crops (rice) were destroyed by the Airport Authority of India and the Manipur police on September 9, 10 and 11, 2020 at Ningombam village, Imphal West.

The Agricultural Labours' Association, Ningombam (ALAN) has sought the intervention of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to ensure compensation for the standing crops that were destroyed by Airports Authority of India and state police during COVID-19 lockdown at Ningombam village.

In this regard, a memorandum was reportedly submitted to the prime minister via post and the copy of the same has also been submitted to the governor and chief minister of Manipur.
