Manipur, Oct. 16 -- Even though Manipur is among the states with highest HIV/AIDS prevalence, the state is yet again facing acute shortage of Antiretroviral (ARV) drugs to be provided to People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) in the state.

The state had earlier faced similar problems in early part of this year. The ARV drugs are used in Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) for treatment of the PLHIV.

However, this time, the shortage of drugs is prolonged and PLHIV, who require the drugs to check viral load increase, are worried over the scarcity of drugs.

In the past few days, many PLHIV came to ART centre, RIMS to avail the drugs. However, they were told that their drugs are not available at the moment.
