IMPHAL, March 21 -- The news item published by local dailies on January 25 in which president, Street Vendor Welfare Union, L. Beda Devi raised allegations that a total sum of Rs. 30,000 were collected from 330 members of the units of Kangleipak Apunba Sinpang Lup (KASIL) and Women's Youths Development Trust (WYDT) for issuance of fake vendor cards, were baseless and fabricated, said chairman, KASIL, Milon today.

In a press meet held today, Milon stated that WYDT and KASIL have been doing many works for the welfare of the people. However, it has been most unfortunate that without giving a second thought, it has been wrongly spread that an amount of Rs. 30, 000 had been collected from 330 vendors, he said.
