Pakistan, Dec. 17 -- A three-member special court has sentenced former President of Pakistan General (ret.) Pervez Musharraf to death in the high treason case.

The shocking verdict came on Tuesday morning after the Lahore High Court (LHC) referred the case to the special court.

The court comprised of Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) Waqar Seth, Justice Nazar Akbar of the Sindh High Court (SHC), and Justice Shahid Karim of the Lahore High Court (LHC).

In its short order, the court declared that the former president committed treason by suspending the constitution on November 3, 2007. A detailed decision will follow.
