Pakistan, June 19 -- With the current World Population of 7.7 billion, according to a new United Nations report, this population will reach 9.7 billion by the year 2050, which means in three decades an increase of 2 billion. But due to the rise of the elderly population the overall growth will decline and countries have to deal with this shift in population paradigm which requires keen policymaking.

"The World Population Prospects 2019: Highlights", has assessed the data and said that in the next three decades we will see the global population rise by 2 billion over the current figure of 7.7 billion, and, by the end of the 21 st century, we'll see population numbers exceeding 11 billion.
