Pakistan, Jan. 29 -- A blanket ban will be imposed on the manufacturing, sale, and purchase of Banaspati ghee in Pakistan by 2020, the government has announced.

Following the decision, all the factories producing the vegetable ghee will be sealed by July next year.

The move has been made after several medical reports revealed that Banaspati ghee is extremely hazardous for human health.

The reports have found that banaspati ghee contains a high amount of Sulfur, trans-fatty acids, Palmitic acid, and nickel. These ingredients may cause fatal diseases like obesity, diabetes, mental illnesses, heart diseases, and cancer.
