BHABUA, Aug. 21 -- A 24-year-old youth was thrown down from the roof and killed with bricks and stones on a petty issue in Kaimur district on Tuesday night, police said. Police further said that the incident occurred at Jaitpur Kala village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Bhagwanpur police station of the district. Deceased Nitish Kumar's father Dadan Bind said that he had a land dispute with his neighbour Lorik Bind and both the families had enmity. On Monday, Mithilesh Kumar, son of Dadan, fell while riding his bicycle on a bed-sheet spread in a lane from a neighbour's roof, leading to a dispute. Police intervened the same evening on a petition by Lorik Bind and pacified both sides. However, around 7pm on Tuesday, the dispute flared up again. Lorik Bind and his family members allegedly abused Dadan's family. Lorik's son, Pappu Bind, reportedly climbed onto Dadan's roof and threw down Dadan's son, Nitish. Lorik, along with seven others, including three women, allegedly assaulted the injured youth with bricks and stones, targeting his head. The attackers left him only after he began bleeding profusely from the mouth, nose, and ears and lost consciousness. Nitish was later rushed to Bhagwanpur community health centre and later referred to Bhabua Sadar Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries in the early hours of Wednesday.
