Woman's body in suitcase: Case solved, 2 held
SASARAM, Feb. 3 -- Rohtas police claimed to have cracked the case of a young married woman, whose body was found in a red suitcase in garbage near Dehri railway station on Sunday. Her parents and family members belonging to Sakaldiha in Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh reached and claimed the body.
The victim was identified as Maroon Khatoon (25), wife of Qayamuddin Sheikh Mansoori, a resident of Jakki Bigha in Dehri town, police said.
Her mother said she married her daughter to Qayamuddin, an electrician, in 2022. They had a two-and-a-half-year-old son. She alleged the son-in-law, having an affair with his maternal aunt's sister, was torturing her daughter for long and trying to throw her out of his house.
"Finally he killed her and threw the body in the same red suitcase, I gifted my daughter in marriage," she said, adding "I didn't know this family has a history of violence. My son-in-law's mother was also killed by his uncle due to an illicit relationship. He lived at his maternal grandmother's home since childhood, even after marriage, where he developed a close relationship with his maternal aunt's sister." Superintendent of police Raushan Kumar said, based on the statement of the deceased's elder brother Mohd Sarwar Sheikh Mansoori, a case had been registered against Qayamuddin and others....
