Woman jumps into pond with two kids, all die
MADHEPURA, Aug. 18 -- In a tragic incident, a 25- year woman jumped into a pond along with her two kids -- a two- year old daughter and one-year old son -- and all died in Bihar's Madhepura. Police recovered the bodies from the pond on Sunday morning.
The woman took the extreme step allegedly after a dispute with her husband, a migrant labourer who went to Punjab three months ago. The police sent the bodies to the district hospital for postmortem.
The incident took place at Routa village falling under the jurisdiction of Kumarkhand police station of the district.
The deceased lived with her two children in a separate house since marriage with Rakesh Kumar Yadav six years ago. "The two had a love marriage and hence used to live in a separate house," Sunil Yadav, father in law of the deceased woman, said, expressing ignorance about the woman taking extreme step. "We don't have any idea whether she had any altercation with her husband" he said.
Station house officer Pankaj Kumar said, "The bodies have been sent to postmortem. Prima facie it appears that the woman after throwing both her children into the pond, jumped into it and finally all the three died."...
