PATNA, Aug. 7 -- Bihar police arrested two gangsters, Roshan Sharma and Randhir Yadav alias Bhunwar, in two separate encounters in which the duo suffered bullet injuries in Patna and Saran districts, police said on Wednesday. Police recovered five countrymade pistols, one pistol, two magazines, 110 live cartridges, empty cartridges and two motorcycles from their possession. Police said in the first incident, inter-state dreaded criminal Roshan Sharma sustained a gunshot injury on his leg while attempting to flee from police custody at Kurkuri village under Phulwarisharif police station on Wednesday morning. Senior SP Kartikey K Sharma told HT that Sharma, a native of Jehanabad, was arrested from his residence and was being brought to Patna for further investigation. "During interrogation, he revealed information that led us to recover a number of weapons and even bust a mini gun factory in Agamkuan and Phulwarisharif police station area, where raw materials of weapons, two lathe machines and other incriminating evidence were seized. While being escorted to arrest one of his aides, Roshan attempted to snatch the weapons of the cops and escape near Kurkuri. Police team immediately managed to overpower him after shooting him in his leg. An injured Roshan was rushed to PMCH," said the SSP. After his arrest, police raided the house of one Dhirendra Kumar alias Kuku Mahto in Phulwarisharif police station area and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition. Sharma is a notorious criminal wanted in over 18 cases of murder, loot, dacoity and others across Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. Recently he was wanted in the murder of bus driver Kripa Nath Sharma in Ramkrishna Nagar police station area on April 24. In a related development, a joint team of STF and Saran police late on Tuesday arrested criminal Randhir Kumar alias Bhuwar, after an encounter in Taraiya police station area. He too suffered a gunshot injury in his leg during the encounter. Randhir is a native of Ramdaspur under Panapur police station and wanted in several cases. Saran SP Kumar Ashish said the joint team of police tried to intercept him in Saguni Bandh locality under Taraiya police station when he opened fire....
