vote counting day: Schools to remain closed, processions banned in Patna
PATNA/ARA, Nov. 14 -- In view of the counting of the Bihar assembly elections on Friday, the government has decided to keep all schools closed on November 14.
It has also banned all victory processions.
According to an order issued by Patna district magistrate-cum-district election officer Thiyagarajan SM, the administration has decided to close all government and private schools in Patna district up to Class 12 on Friday as it prepares for the counting of votes in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.
Source said this decision was taken to maintain the law and order and to ensure smooth traffic management and public convenience as counting begins at 8am at AN College. Fourteen constituencies from the district will be counted at the centre.
Meanwhile, the administration has banned victory processions. Even no rallies, dharnas, demonstrations or politically motivated gatherings will be permitted. The use of loudspeakers has also been prohibited. "There will be no compromise on maintaining law and order," the order said, adding that any action contrary to the conditions of election permits won't be tolerated.
The ban on victory processions will remain in force across state until November 16....
