PATNA, Nov. 5 -- The Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) on Tuesday withdrew its candidate Santosh Sahni from the Gaura Bauram Assembly constituency in order to eliminate the possibility of split in votes because of friendly fight within the Opposition's INDIA bloc. Santosh is brother of VIP chief Mukesh Sahni. He announced his support for the RJD candidate Mohammad Afzal Ali Khan. Announcing this in Darbhanga, Mukesh Sahni said that initially, RJD and VIP candidates had filed nominations from this assembly constituency. Several attempts were made to persuade the RJD candidate, but he refused. Finally, on Tuesday, VIP candidate Santosh Sahni, showing a large heart, withdrew from the contest in support of the RJD candidate. He said that if both parties had remained in the fray, the NDA would have benefited. "This is a big fight. This is not a fight to ensure the victory of any one MLA, but to form a Grand Alliance government," said Mukesh Sahni. Mukesh Sahni further appealed to all VIP workers to work towards ensuring the victory of the RJD candidate, saying that if this is the case in other areas, a candidate should show such a large heart so that Lalu Yadav's fight for social justice can be carried forward....
