Vigilance sleuths nab JE accepting Rs.50,000 bribe
PATNA, Sept. 25 -- Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) sleuths arrested a junior engineer while accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000 in Saran district, officials said.
They said, they received a complaint from Santosh Kumar of Panapur in the district, who alleged that the junior engineer of Panapur Block had demanded a bribe in exchange for granting permission to construct a Waste Processing Unit, community building, and boundary wall.
After verifying the complaint, a trap was laid on September 24. The arrested JE was identified as Raja Karim.
A case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, was registered against the accused, and further legal action is underway. The trap was led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raj Kumar Singh....
