Uttarakhand CM visits families hit by rains, floods in Rudraprayag
Mussoorie, Nov. 2 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday visited the disaster-affected Bhaur village in the Vasukedar Tehsil of Rudraprayag district, where he personally met the affected families and conducted an on-site inspection of the relief and reconstruction efforts.
Nine people went missing in the rain-related incident on August 29 in Chhenagarh area of Rudraprayag. Two bodies were recovered on October 24, and five more on October 25.
Expressing deep condolences to the families who suffered loss of life and property, the CM presented cheques of Rs.5 lakh each as financial assistance to the family members of the deceased, Kuldeep Singh Negi (a forest worker) and Sate Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhami said, "The state government stands with them in their time of crisis and is fully committed to their rehabilitation."
He also held personal discussions with the victims, instructing officials to provide all relief in a time-bound, transparent, and sensitive manner, and to complete the reconstruction of all damaged infrastructure on a priority basis....
