PATNA, Feb. 16 -- Two unidentified assailants shot at two young men in broad daylight near Shivaji Chowk under Ramakrishna Nagar police station here in the state capital on Sunday, police said, adding both injured were rushed to a private hospital for treatment in a serious condition. Police said that the incident took place when two friends, Bittu Kumar, 24, and Pintu Kumar, 25, were taking a cup of tea when the miscreants opened fire at them. Locals rushed to the crime scene and the injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. However, the police did not recover any bullet from the scene, police said. Upon receiving information about the incident, police from the Ramakrishna Nagar police station and other police officials arrived at the scene. Sadar DSP-2 Ranjan Kumar said, "Two assailants arrived on a bike and opened fire on the Scorpio riders, Pintu Kumar and Bittu Kumar. They then fled the scene. But both men were seriously injured by the gunfire. The shooters have been identified. One year ago, the two had a dispute, which led to the shooting," he added. Police said that they are examining footage from nearby CCTV cameras to identify the criminals. Preliminary investigations are looking into personal enmity or other possible motives."...
