BETTIAH, Jan. 1 -- Haraiya police in Bihar's East Champaran district arrested two persons and seized a large quantity of drugs during a raid conducted in the Indo-Nepal border area, police said on Wednesday. Acting on a tip-off about illegal trafficking, a police team carried out a raid late on Tuesday night and recovered a huge cache of contraband drugs from a house at Tumariya Tola in the border belt under Haraiya police station limits. "These intoxicating drugs were meant to cater to the demand during the New Year period," said Manish Anand, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Raxaul. Seized drugs included 288 bottles of Proximo SPAS syrup, 1,720 Tramadol (50 mg) tablets, 5,940 Nitrazepam (40 mg) tablets, 1,584 I-SPA-Pro capsules, 36 bottles of Onsen syrup, 39 bottles of Berrycef syrup, four bottles of Codinext syrup, 17 bottles of Viscorex syrup, and four bottles of Onerex syrup. Police said the arrested accused are residents of the border area and are believed to be part of an inter-district drug racket....
