PATNA, Oct. 14 -- Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad's elder son Tej Pratap Yadav announced on Monday that he would contest the upcoming assembly poll from Mahua constituency as a candidate of the Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD), a party that he floated in May this year after he was expelled from his parent party RJD. On Monday, the JJD released its list of candidates for the elections, confirming that Tej Pratap Yadav will file his nomination from Mahua on October 16. He is presently an MLA from Hasanpur. Speaking to the media, Tej Pratap said that the party plans to field candidates across Bihar. Addressing speculation over who will become the next chief minister, he stated, "Whoever will be Bihar's CM will be decided by the people." The move to plunge into polls marks Tej Pratap Yadav's formal entry into the electoral contest under the banner of his new party ahead of the two-phase Bihar Assembly polls scheduled in two phases in November....
