JAMUI, June 25 -- A 30-year-old science teacher posted at +2 High School Chhatiaini under the Aliganj block of Bihar's Jamui district was found dead in his rented house on Tuesday. The deceased teacher, Koushik Deonath, was a resident of Harharia Panpara village which falls under Islamnagar police station in Murshidabad district, West Bengal, police said. Koushik Deonath had joined the school on February 21 last year and had returned to Jamui after the summer vacation on June 22. "He was present at school on Monday," said Ramashish Kumar, the in-charge headmaster of the school. "When he didn't show up for work on Tuesday, we became concerned and tried to figure out the reason for his absence." Neighbours also grew suspicious when Deonath didn't leave his room by 8 am. They knocked on his door but received no response. "When they peered through the window, they found him lying on the bed," the headmaster added, quoting the neighbours. The neighbours immediately contacted the Chandradeep police outpost (OP). Upon arrival, the police broke open the door and found Deonath unconscious. He was rushed to a nearby government health clinic, where doctors declared him dead. "We have informed his family in West Bengal and will proceed with the postmortem only after they arrive," said Station House Officer (SHO) Rajendra Sah. "At first glance, it appears he may have died from a cardiac arrest, but the investigation is ongoing. The postmortem report will clarify the exact cause of death."...
