Jamshedpur, Nov. 17 -- Tata Steel managing director (MD) and CEO TV Narendran said on Sunday that the steel giant would partner with 600 tribal communities across the country by 2030 and continue to provide jobs to tribals and locals while promoting entrepreneurship among them.
"Jharkhand is the lone state where raw materials are available and products are also manufactured. From steel to automotive, companies are here. The need is to boost the industrialisation process. We all need to come forward together and focus on industrial growth through the value chain," said Narendran, after inaugurating the tribal conclave 'Samvaad 2025' at Gopal Maidan in Jamshedpur late Saturday evening.
"Events like 'Samvaad' will continue to connect tribal people with the entire country and the world. We will become the first company to link up with 600 tribal communities by 2030. We have so far connected over 300 tribal communities with Tata Steel through the Tata Steel Foundation's (TSF's) 'Samvaad' conclave, which is holding its 12th edition this year. 'Samvaad' initiatives to provide tribal people with a national and international platform continue throughout the year," said Narendran.
He said that the company has been playing its role in promoting employment, culture, language, lifestyle, and entrepreneurship among tribal people, and empowering them through welfare, education, health, and cultural activities under 'Samvaad'.
"We will try to improve and strengthen it further. Starting the night shift for women employees in Tata Steel is a historic step. The government has also approved it. If we have to promote gender diversity, women will have to work night shifts too. We are constantly trying to increase the number of women in our workforce. We have taken every step to ensure the safety and security of women employees," added Narendran....
