PATNA, Nov. 24 -- The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) on Sunday conducted raids at the office and residences of Aurangabad excise superintendent Anil Kumar Azad in connection with a disproportionate assets case, officials said. They said the searches were carried out in Patna, Aurangabad and Jehanabad districts on charges that Azad had misused his official position for personal gain. During the raids, officials found that the excise superintendent had allegedly amassed assets worth Rs.1.58 crore beyond his known sources of income.
