Student stabs teacher, critically injures him
AURANGABAD, Oct. 11 -- A class 10 student repeatedly stabbed on the neck and critically injured his teacher while he was waiting for a vehicle at Bhakharuan Turning under Daudnagar police station of Aurangabad district on Friday morning, police said.
Victim Sudama Kumar, a mathematics teacher in upgraded higher secondary school at Tarar village under Daudnagar block and a resident of Aurangabad, was waiting for his headmaster Pawan Kumar at the turning who was coming on a bike, police said.
SDPO Daudnagar, Ashok Kumar Das said the 16-year-old boy, a class 10 student, reached the place about 7am with some of his friends, took out a knife and repeatedly stabbed on the teacher's neck. They fled after the critically injured teacher fell down.
Last year, the student had been rusticated from the school on the charges of harassing a schoolgirl. Believing that the victim had played a role in his rustication, he had come to take revenge, the SDPO said.
Headmaster Pawan Kumar reached the place, informed police and took the injured teacher to the community health centre at Daudnagar, where doctors referred him to a higher institution after 10 stitches on the wounds and first aid. SHO Sudhish Kumar took the teacher to Sadar Hospital at Aurangabad where he was in intensive care, police said.
A case for murderous attack was registered against the student and his friends who had already been identified and police were conducting raids for their arrest, the SDPO said.
On Friday morning, a container truck crushed the son of an ASI, while he on his way to tuition class, at Dhobi Ghatwa under Ara Nawada police station, police said.
Ranjeet Kumar (15), son of Sunil Kumar, died on the spot. His friend, who was riding the bike, narrowly escaped. The driver fled the scene with the container. The friend called the victim's family using the victim's mobile phone and informed them of the incident.
