PATNA, May 10 -- A 22-year-old student preparing for competitive examinations was shot dead near the Saidpur hostel gate under the jurisdiction of Bahadurpur police station in the early hours of Friday, police said. The victim was identified as Chandan Kumar. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), officials confirmed. "The incident occurred following a clash between two groups of youths," said ASP (Patna City) A. Jha, who reached the spot after receiving information. He added that an empty cartridge was recovered from the crime scene and that raids are underway to arrest those involved in the killing. Bahadurpur Station House Officer (SHO) Ajay Shankar said that forensic experts were called to the site to collect evidence.
