PATNA, Aug. 25 -- RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha on Saturday demanded chief minister Nitish Kumar's resignation for failing to deliver on the promise of "zero tolerance to crime" as data on cognizable offences confirmed that the present situation was worse than those during the regime he replaced.

"The spate in incidents of murder and crime is showing no signs of abating. Common man and police officials are getting killed. It appears that criminals are enjoying a free run and people are forced to live under the shadow of a regime they had voted for 14 years back to change the then prevailing situation," Kushwaha said at a press meet.
