SSB jawan among two arrested for cyber fraud in East Champaran
BETTIAH, June 29 -- Bihar's East Champaran police arrested a jawan of Shasastra Seema Bal (SSB) along with one accomplice who duped people belonging to various states using accounts of local youths and laundered the extorted money through cryptocurrency trading, officials said.
East Champaran police statement said,"Among the two include a constable of SSB's 47th battalion. He was arrested with the seizure of a rifle, pistol, cartridge and magazine during a raid at his house. The other arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Javed, a resident of East Champaran."
Earlier on June 17 this year, East Champaran police had arrested five cyber criminals - Sumit Saurabh (26), Sanjeev Kumar (24), Sunil Kumar Srivastava (49), Dipanshu Pandey (28) and Pappu Kumar (24)- for their alleged involvement in cyber crimes across the country.
Operating under the name 'BOSS', the gang members would use the motorcycles bearing registration number 8085 with BOSS tag in place, police added....
