Ranchi, Aug. 23 -- Students of Jharkhand from Class 1 to 12 will read the biography of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren in their text books from April next year. An official of the school education and literacy department informed this to the Hindustan Times, saying that the matter was discussed on Wednesday in a meeting of a section of senior department officials under the chairmanship of department secretary Umashankar Singh. "The matter regarding adding a biography of Guruji to the school curriculum was discussed in a meeting chaired by department's secretary, Umashankar Singh, and it was decided that the draft of the text material would be finalised by the end of August. Content will be added to the new books from the next academic session," the official said. Singh confirmed the fact, saying that the content would be created according to the mental level of the students in different classes. "For students of Class 1 and 2, the content will be in pictorial form, and then its level will be increased. In some classes a separate chapter will be added; in some classes it will be added with the content of other chapters," Singh said. Asked about the content to be given, Singh said, "The life struggle of Guru Ji, inspiring incidents of his life, his contribution for tribal development, and his 16-point programme for development will be included."
