BETTIAH, Aug. 22 -- The Vigilance Bureau (VB) sleuths on Thursday caught a woman Sub-Inspector (SI) and a man red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.12,000 in West Champaran district, officials said. Vigilance DSP Arunodya Pandey confirmed the arrest and said that the SI was identified as Preeti Kumari, the investigating officer (IO) of a case registered with Sikarpur police station. She had allegedly demanded Rs.15,000 from Firoz Kaishar, a resident of Maldahiya Pokhariya village in Narkatiaganj sub-division, to favour his brother Parvez Kaishar, an accused in the case.
