BETTIAH, June 22 -- Bettiah police in Bihar have arrested a sub-inspector (SI) for allegedly duping an SI aspirant of Rs.13 lakh on the pretext of helping him clear the Bihar police recruitment examination, officials said on Saturday. In an official statement dated June 21, police said that SI Dev Mohan Singh, posted with Bettiah police, took Rs.13 lakh from aspirant Raghunath Pandit-both in cash and through UPI payments-promising to secure his clearance in the physical eligibility test for recruitment. Bettiah superintendent of police (SP) Dr Shaurya Suman confirmed the arrest, stating that the charges against the officer were found to be true during the investigation.
