PATNA, July 6 -- A day after the violent incident in Siwan's Malmaliya Chowk, the police on Saturday arrested nine accused linked to the murders of three people of a family. The gruesome incident has triggered tension in the area. Taking cognisance of the matter, DIG Saran Nilesh Kumar suspended Bhagwanpur Haat SHO Sujit Kumar Chaudhary with immediate effect for negligence in duty. Siwan SP Manoj Kumar Tiwari confirmed the arrests and said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is probing the case, and more arrests will be made soon. All accused have been identified. The incident occurred due to personal enmity. On Friday evening, around 4:30 pm armed men carrying swords, axes and firearms on bikes and a Scorpio allegedly killed Munna Singh at Malmaliya Chowk. Later, they attacked and killed Rohit Singh, son of former Mukhiya Akhilesh Singh and Kanhaiya Singh, near Kaudiya Basanti village on the other side of the Malmaliya-Masrakh railway over bridge. The injured persons have been identified as Roshan Singh and Karan Singh are undergoing treatment in Siwan Sadar Hospital. Following the triple murder, tension gripped the entire Siwan region, all the business establishments and shops shut down in protest. Angry protestors set fire to one of the attacker's bikes and raised slogans against the police for reaching the spot one hour late. Police said that one Satrughan Singh of Kauriya village under Basantpur police station allegedly roughed up at a petrol pump, later attacked on his house led to injuries of his son and family members. Retaliate this, Satrughan along with his brother reaches the outside the attackers house where both groups indulged in firing and brick batting. The reason behind the muscle power between two groups over an ownership of a brick-kiln unit. Earlier on Thursday, Kanhaiya Singh lodged a complaint with the Bhagwanur police station against seven persons including Shatrughan Singh, Suraj Kumar, Kishan Singh, Deepak Singh, Rupesh Singh and Pawan Singh on the charges of thrashed on the pistol point, make video and uploaded on social media.
