PATNA, Dec. 31 -- A sub-inspector-cum-station house officer (SHO) of Chowk police station, Manjeet Thakur, was on Tuesday removed from his post with immediate effect for alleged negligence during the birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Guru Gobind Singh (Prakash Utsav).

The assailants looted Rs.8,000 in cash and her mobile phone. The accused are still at large and police have launched a manhunt to nab them.
Reacting to the incident, Sikh devotee Kawaljeet Singh said Chowk police station is among the most sensitive police jurisdictions in Patna City due to the presence of Takht Sahib, which attracts national and international pilgrims.
