According to the victim, he was forced to do sit-ups while holding his ears and was even made to lick his own spit off the ground. He was later taken to Sadar Hospital for treatment. After being discharged, Kumar met Barbigha MLA Sudarshan Kumar and narrated his ordeal. The MLA brought the matter to the attention of Sheikhpura SP Balram Kumar Choudhary, who ordered a detailed investigation and asked the Additional SP to submit a comprehensive report. "Following the Additional SP's report, the SHO has been placed under suspension and departmental proceedings will be initiated against him," the SP said, adding that strict action would be taken against anyone who takes the law into their own hands.
