Haridwar, May 21 -- The Haridwar police has intensified its search for the 45-year-old man who has been accused of killing a 4-year-old girl, police said on Tuesday. "Nine teams from the city police and the Crime Investigation Unit are conducting manual investigations aided by mobile surveillance and CCTV footage to trace the accused, identified as Suraj alias Ganju. He is a ragpicker and drug addict who may be using a wig to conceal his identity, as he is bald," said Pankaj Gairola, Haridwar (City) superintendent of police. He further said that raids are being carried out in Haridwar, Saharanpur and areas along the Uttarakhand-Uttar Pradesh border. "He is suspected to be moving between slum colonies, railway tracks, and isolated areas in the city's outskirts. We are confident of arresting him soon. The investigation is being closely monitored by senior officers," he said, adding that local intelligence has been alerted because of the severity of the case....
