Scorpions call off India tour, cite medical emergency
India, April 19 -- German rock band Scorpions have cancelled their much-anticipated Coming Home India Tour, citing unforeseen medical circumstances affecting members of the band. The four-city tour, which would have marked their return to India after nearly two decades, was scheduled to begin in Shillong on April 21, followed by Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.
Announcing the development ,BookMyShow Live said in a statement that the shows stand cancelled and all ticket holders will receive refunds. The organisers also noted that the band remains keen to perform in India at a later date, subject to scheduling and recovery.
The band, known for hits such as Wind of Change and Rock You Like a Hurricane, was formed in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker. They were about to make their long-awaited India return after last performing in 2007.
