SAP jawan killed, another injured after run over by sand mafia
PATNA, Nov. 19 -- A SAP (special auxiliary police) jawan was killed and his colleague injured after an SUV was run over them at Kan village under Dulhin Bazar police station late on Monday night.
The injured jawan was getting treatment at a hospital, police said.
Police further said the incident took place around midnight during a raid at Kan village.
"When a mining inspector along with two SAP jawans was returning after seizing a loaded sand tractor, a Scorpio SUV came and tried to get the vehicle released. When the jawans intercepted, the SUV dashed the officials' vehicle in which two jawans fell down from the vehicle and were run over by the Scorpio," said SHO Dulhin Bazar, Sonu Kumar.
He said the injured jawans were taken to the hospital but one died during treatment. The other was getting treatment, he added.
The SHO said police received information around 12.30am that a clash took place between jawans and sand mafia after they seized a sand loaded tractor. "It occurred when the seized tractor was returning," said the SHO.
SHO said a special team was formed to arrest the criminals involved in the incidents.
"An FIR was lodged with Dulhin Bazar police in this connection," he said....
