Mussoorie, May 19 -- The doors of Lord Rudranath Temple, the fourth Kedar in the Panch Kedar circuit, were ceremoniously opened to devotees at 4am on Sunday amid the chanting of Vedic hymns and the presence of a large gathering of pilgrims. The ceremonial procession began on May 16, when the Utsav Doli (processional idol) of Lord Rudranath was adorned and sent off from Gopinath Temple following special prayers. The Doli halted overnight at Pungu and reached Rudranath Dham via Panar Bugyal on May 17. The temple doors were opened to devotees on Sunday at 4am. Rudranath temple is significant among the Panch Kedars as here Lord Shiva is worshipped in his "Ekanan" (face) form. "Security arrangements have been tightened, and authorities have urged pilgrims to check weather forecasts before embarking on the journey.
