PATNA, June 21 -- Leader of the Opposition in Bihar Assembly and RJD spearhead Tejashwi Prasad Yadav took a sharp jibe on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vent in Siwan district. He called it a costly affair at the expense of taxpayers' money. The event, he said, was organised for about Rs.100-crore through misuse of the state administration that also brought the crowd to the venue. "The Siwan event of PM Modi was an official event but BJP flags were fluttering at the event. Besides, every time PM comes to Bihar, a sum of Rs.100 crore is spent from the state exchequer of a poor state like Bihar. Ministers take helicopter rides to review preparations ahead of PM's visit and the administration goes into overdrive to mobilise people. This costs a fortune. Besides, PM Modi's event today at Siwan was an official event but it turned out to be a political event," Yadav said, at a presser, just hours after PM Modi addressed a big rally in Siwan where projects worth several thousand crores were inaugurated. Yadav said that the BJP being a rich party was using official events as political events even as the central government had lowered its share in central government schemes. "Does it augur well fora poor state like Bihar which has to bear a high share in centrally sponsored schemes? The BJP-led NDA government in Bihar and at the centre does not have anything concrete to offer to the state be it employment, industry or development but it is spending crores from state exchequer for official events, which are nothing but political rallies. People of Bihar are fed up with such antics of the BJP," Yadav said. Calling PM Modi's speech at the Siwan function as 'lacking in context', the opposition leader asked as to why there was no reference of migration, unemployment, backwardness and other burning issues at the Siwan event. "PM Modi as usual criticised us ( read RJD). But he did not mention how Marhowrah locomotive factory, Saran was set up by RJD chief Lalu Prasad during his stint as railway minister," Yadav said in reference to PM Modi's speech in Siwan today where he mentioned how locomotive manufactured at the Marhowrah diesel locomotive plant would be exported. PM Modi today flagged off the first locomotive manufactured at the Marhaurah plant today for export. Moreover, Yadav, who has upped the ante against PM Modi in the last few months, also wondered whether the Prime Minister had any information about the firing that took place near his official residence on Thursday. "Didn't the PM get any information about this incident? When we are not safe, what can one say about people of the state? Every day firing is taking place and criminals are striking with impunity. But PM Modi did not speak about it. Isn't this 'jungle raj' in Bihar?," Yadav questioned. He also took swipe at PM Modi for not speaking anything about nepotism in the state government. "PM Modi did not speak about dynastic and family rule politics in the state government. Why is that so?. We Biharis do not want somebody from outside to lecture us. We do not like to be dictated. Bihar would be run by Biharis, who have toiled hard and continue to do so for the nation's development," Yadav said....
