RPF & GRP bust train robbery gang, 2 nabbed
PATNA, March 21 -- In a joint operation, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) busted a gang allegedly involved in stealing or snatching passengers' belongings on running trains, police said on Friday.
Two of the prime accused, Sanjay Yadav (Munger) and Paltu Sahni (Bhagalpur) have been arrested. Following the interrogation of Sanjay Yadav, the joint team raided his in-laws house at Maheshpur under the Babarganj police station area and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth approximately Rs.1 crore, including gold 500 grams, silver 1.5 kilograms and dollars and currencies of different countries. Their interrogation led the police to the remaining gang members and two gold smiths of Bhagalpur who allegedly bought the stolen ornaments. According to Jamalpur Rail SP Vidyasagar, the action was carried out under Operation Yatri Suraksha, an initiative of the RPF and the GRP to enhance passenger safety....
