SASARAM, July 7 -- Two women farm labourers from Jharkhand were killed and another critically injured in lightning strike while transplanting paddy at Dhawania village under Dinara police station of Rohtas district on Sunday, police said. The deceased were identified as Sabita Bhuiyan (25) and Rajneti Bhuiyan (20) of Itko village in Palamau district of Jharkhand. Critically injured Prabha Bhuiyan was admitted to Sadar Hospital at Sasaram, they added. The labourer families were brought from Jharkhand by a villager for paddy transplantation in his agricultural fields as the kharif season is on peak and there is shortage of local labourers. The victims were on work amidst thundering and heavy rains when lightning fell on them. They were rushed to the local community health centre, where doctors declared two of the women dead. Dinara station house officer Vinay Kumar said an unnatural death case was registered and bodies sent to Sasaram for post-mortem examination.
